Bio by Jose Maria Imbert

The calling came to Victoria on a day like any other, as she accompanied a friend to visit a local jewler, Mrs. Carolina Bencosme. Amidst the precious stones and silver she caught the flutter of interest and immediately found passion running through her veins.

After that first day she began treading down the path that took her halfway around the world in the strife of mastering her art.

After attending Carolina’s workshop for about three months she set out to find her style. After two years, endless attempts (some failed and some successful) at necklaces and bracelets she set off, pliers in hand, to the land of creation, the city of Gaudi: Barcelona.

After completing many courses and formal trainings in the art of jewelry making she walked the city in hopes of finding inspiration and ended up finding herself; in a lonely street of old Barcelona where it seems the sky meets the earth, Victoria found Tierra.

She had always known that jewelry was an expression of the soul, but there she realized that it was a cry that came directly from the heart.

Her style, Hippie-Chic as she describes it, is not limited by purity of stone or propriety of material. Anything and everything goes. Her philosophy is “If I can melt it, bend it, fold it and pin it…I can work with it”. She describes her style as unique and unusual as her train of thought. Her main goal is to help others declare their independence through what they wear as she proclaims her independence through what she makes.

I asked Victoria if she could ever see herself not creating. The answer I got stunned me:

“I will stop creating the day I feel obligated to do so…”

She refuses to let the commercial aspect corrupt the passion involved; as she has put it “there is too much of me in it…and it took too long to find myself”

The name for victoria’s line: TIERRA is Spanish for Earth and it, of course, has its purpose. The earth gives us all we need to feel good and look good. It is a tribute to where all things come from; to where we all come from.

In Tierra by Victoria you will find the principle of style along with the essence of elegance. It is the coalition of life experiences molten together in a gigantic burst of creation which is sure to captue the imagination. Each piece is a story, her story, waiting to be interpreted and re-told by the user.
